Day 1. Arrive Melbourne

Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Dinner at 6.30pm in the hotel as you get to know your fellow travelers.

Day 2. Blackwood and Mt Macedon

Visit the Garden of St Erth, one of Australia’s most exciting cool climate gardens, home to a collection of rare and unusual plants. Afterwards travel to a couple of private gardens before travelling back to Melbourne.

Day 3. Dandenong Ranges

This morning we visit a beautiful private garden in the Dandenongs. Continue to Cloudehill Garden, with its extensive herbaceous borders, roses and azalea walks. This afternoon we will visit a wholesale conifer nursery, growing more than 600 varieties. Learn about the propagation of these plants before returning to Melbourne.

Day 4. Cranbourne Botanic Gardens and Heronswood

Visit the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens with its exciting Australian garden. Continue to Heronswood Garden, the home of the Diggers Club overlooking Port Phillip Bay. After a tasting plate lunch we will visit a beautiful private garden featured on Monty Don’s, Around the World in 80 Gardens television program. Upon returning to Melbourne, you will hear a special lecture from Teena Crawford, past judge at the Melbourne Flower Show.

Day 5. Melbourne Flower Show

Enjoy a full day at the acclaimed Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Regarded as the largest and most successful horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere, it is rated among the top five flower and garden shows in the world. This evening is yours free to enjoy as your last night in Melbourne.

Day 6. Yarra Valley and North East Victoria

Today we journey to the Yarra Valley region to visit Lubra Bend and Alowyn Garden. In Milawa this afternoon, you can visit the gourmet cheese and mustard factories, as well as Brown Brothers winery.
Stay: Two Nights: Milawa, Lindenwarrah Hotel or similar

Day 7. Private Garden Visits

Today you’ll visit a number of beautiful private gardens around the north-east. Visit the town of Bright, renowned for their autumn leaves. This evening enjoy a Farewell Dinner.

Day 8. Beechworth and Depart Melbourne

Enjoy a tour and free time in Beechworth to explore the quaint shops, followed by another private garden visit. On the way back to Melbourne, visit another private garden in Molyullah before arriving at Melbourne airport at 5.00pm, or the Marriott Hotel at 6.00pm.

Melbourne Flower Show

  • The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is considered to be one of the largest and most successful horticultural events in the southern hemisphere. This world-class event is held in the Carlton Gardens and inside the World Heritage-listed Royal Melbourne Exhibition Building. This grand old building is an attraction in itself. Stay at the luxurious Marriott Hotel situated near the Flower Show and enjoy many of Melbourne’s fine dining options

Fitness Level 

  • Our tours and cruises cater to various fitness levels
  • This tour requires a low level of fitness – Involves travel close to home and includes longer stays in one location. Travellers need to be able to walk on uneven surfaces and stairs, and be able to stand for up to one hour
