Day 1. Arrive Melbourne

Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. After a Welcome Dinner at 6.30pm you will hear a special lecture from Teena Crawford, a past judge at the Melbourne Flower Show.
Stay: Five Nights: Melbourne, Marriott Hotel

Day 2. Blackwood & Mt Macedon

Visit the Garden of St Erth, one of Australia’s most exciting cool climate gardens, home to a collection of rare and unusual plants. After, visit another private garden before travelling back to Melbourne.

Day 3. Dandenong Ranges

Visit a beautiful private garden in the Dandenongs. Continue on to the acclaimed Cloudehill Garden, with its extensive herbaceous borders, roses and azalea walks. Visit a wholesale conifer nursery, growing over 600 varieties before returning to Melbourne.

Day 4. Cranbourne Botanic Gardens & Heronswood

Visit the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens with its exciting Australian Garden. Continue to Heronswood Garden in Dromana, the home of the Diggers Club. After a tasting plate lunch we visit a lovely private garden featured on Monty Don’s, Around the World in 80 Gardens television program, then return to Melbourne.

Day 5. Melbourne Flower Show

Enjoy a full day at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Regarded as the largest and most successful horticultural event in the southern hemisphere, it is rated among the top five flower and garden shows in the world.

Day 6. Yarra Valley & North East Victoria

Eight day BTM8 travellers journey to the Yarra Valley region to visit Lubra Bend and Alowyn Garden. In Milawa this afternoon, you can visit the gourmet cheese and mustard factories, as well as Brown Brothers winery.
Stay: Two Nights: Milawa, Lindenwarrah

Day 7. Garden Visits

Today you’ll visit a number of beautiful gardens around the north-east. Visit the town of Bright, renowned for its autumn leaves. This evening enjoy a Farewell Dinner.

Day 8. Beechworth & Depart Melbourne

Enjoy a tour and free time in Beechworth to explore the quaint shops. Arrive at Melbourne airport at around 5pm, or the hotel around 6pm.

Melbourne Flower Show

  • The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is considered to be one of the largest and most successful horticultural events in the southern hemisphere. This world-class event is held in the Carlton Gardens and inside the World Heritage-listed Royal Melbourne Exhibition Building. This grand old building is an attraction in itself. Stay at the luxurious Marriott Hotel situated near the Flower Show and enjoy many of Melbourne’s fine dining options

Fitness Level 

  • Our tours and cruises cater to various fitness levels
  • This tour requires a low level of fitness – Involves travel close to home and includes longer stays in one location. Travellers need to be able to walk on uneven surfaces and stairs, and be able to stand for up to one hour


Botanical Guide – Edgar Wasbutzki

  • Eddie has over 29 years’ industry experience as owner of ‘The Lone Hydrangea’ florist and as Nursery Manager at Cloudehill. Eddie runs a garden consultancy and works his own two acre private garden, Kulana
