It is today arranged according to Carl Linnaeus’ own plan from 1745 which defines our classification of the plant world today. Approximately 1,300 species of plants are grown here, all of which are known to have been cultivated by Linnaeus. The garden is a living complement to his writings and drawings and a haven of information for those interested in the naming of plants. Whilst in Uppsala you will also explore Dromparken (Dream Park) designed by renowned landscape architect Piet Oudolf, and discover peonies in Kolnback’s Park. This afternoon visit Millesgarden Sculpture Park & Garden located on a nearby island. This afternoon, the time has come to set sail for Helsinki, before enjoying dinner on board.

This historic maritime city completed its city walls in the 16th century and the Old Town within these walls is one of the best-preserved from the Middle ages. Its numerous churches, guild halls and gabled merchants’ residences date mainly from the 15th century. Tallinn is dominated by Toompea Castle, once a fortress, and now the seat of the Estonian parliament. It is set high on a steep hillside overlooking the city and the Baltic Sea. The annual flower festival takes place again in the grounds of Kadriorg Park and Palace. See the themed gardens here that weave together plants, sounds, colours, scents, light and shade into a perfect summer pattern. Spend the afternoon at sea.
