Dropping anchor at Puerto Natalaes, today may be the day we enjoy a full day in South America’s largest national park, the Torres del Paine. Look out for yellow and white ‘tongues’ of the porcelain orchid and the periwinkle Patagonian edelweiss amongst many others plants.

Depending on the conditions, today may be the day we arrive at Magdalena Island to see the resident colony of Magellan penguins. We also hope to navigate the Kirke Narrows, that can only be sailed at low tide.

Today we navigate around Cape Horn, one of the world’s best known maritime landmarks. Weather permitting we hope to use Zodiacs to land and walk to the Magellan monument.

Upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro enjoy a sightseeing tour to the top of Corcovado Mountain to the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue with an exquisite view over the city.

This morning visit Sitio, artist and garden designer Roberto Burle Marx’s former home and garden outside Rio - sure to be a highlight. Afterwards explore Instituto Moreira Salles, an abstract modern garden, designed by Burle Marx.
