Itinerary

Day 1. Arrive Launceston & Sightseeing

Be picked up at the airport at 1pm or the hotel at 2pm. Enjoy a city tour which includes the beautiful Cataract Gorge. Afterwards, enjoy fine local produce and a glass of wine at Josef Chromy Estate before a Welcome Dinner at your hotel.

Day 2. Historic Tasmanian Gardens

See the villages of Evandale and Longford, and enjoy morning tea at the Gourmet Sauce and Topiary Garden. Later, visit Brickendon Heritage Garden, Woolmers Estate and the National Rose Garden.

Day 3. Private Gardens

Explore private gardens including Old Wesley Dale, a peaceful English garden abounding with hedges and walls, productive potage and lovely vistas drawing from borrowed natural landscapes. This evening enjoy a gourmet dinner at Stillwater Restaurant.

Day 4. Historic Villages of Central Tasmania

Discover the delights of central Tasmania with a visit to a private garden near Launceston. Admire the cottage gardens in the historic towns of Oatlands and Richmond. At Ross, visit the convict-built bridge and view the township’s cottage gardens before arriving in Hobart.

Day 5. Hobart Gardens

After breakfast visit Corinda House and admire the symmetrical parterres and box hedges. Explore the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, and enjoy a free afternoon before taking a tour of The Henry Jones Hotel’s private art collection.

Day 6. Russell Falls, Epsom House & Musical Soirée

At Prospect Villa, wander amid ten garden rooms protected by 170-year-old walls. Visit Russell Falls in Mt Field National Park. Visit Epsom House, one of Australia’s oldest houses. The property features many established trees including elms, cypress, cedar and eucalypts. Enjoy a special musical soirée during this evening’s Farewell Dinner at Epsom House.

Day 7. Salamanca Market, MONA & Depart Hobart

Wander through Salamanca Market to see the local arts, crafts and produce on sale. Visit the Museum of Old and New Art MONA Gallery, or try some delicacies at the Barilla Bay Oyster Farm then transfer to the airport at 2.30pm.
